Indoor Pool for Barmouth Bay Holiday Village

This holiday park, which is part of the Haulfryn Group, is licensed for 265 caravan holiday homes. As their outdoor pool was only open for a short time each summer, an indoor pool would enable them to lengthen the holiday season and accommodate holidaymakers even in the worst weather.

A complete Design and Build contract was placed with Pinelog. The new 350 square metre turnkey centre includes : a 15 metre x 7.5 metre swimming pool with integral children's pool; changing rooms; showers; toilets including disabled facilities; store rooms and a plant room. Pinelog also took care of the plumbing, electrical and heating services, floor coverings, automatically controlled pool chemical dosing system and poolhall environmental control system.

In order to minimise disruption, the new swimming pool complex was built over and around an existing reception and office building, but in such a way that on completion the old and the new blended together perfectly. Despite some initial planning delays the project was completed in just 20 weeks.

The Park Manager sums up the the new facility: "It looks a million dollars from both inside and out. We now get 100% utilisation of the facility and I can confidently say that since commissioning it has proved to be very popular with all our residents and is being used all day, every day. It has been a tremendous success with our customers and the perceived value to prospective holiday home owners is beyond belief - we have already noted an increase in our enquiry to sales ratio. We are delighted!"
