The Methodist Church in Battle had outgrown its old premises at a listed chapel. Land was designated by the council for community use at a new location and fund raising began. Pinelog were approached to design the new community centre and church as a result of their extensive experience of designing and building churches and church halls. A planning application was submitted and, once approved, invitations to tender were sent out for the contract. Pinelog won the contract to build the new Emmanuel Centre.

The main worship hall seats up to 150 and a smaller multi-use area seats up to 80 and acts as an extension to the main hall when extra space is required. The two storey design also includes a quiet counselling room, a coffee lounge, kitchen and toilets.

The building is designed to fit the contours of the land, which slopes up from the road. The design is made up of gentle curves and soft roof shapes. The feature window shapes allow light to stream into the main hall.

There is on site parking for 54 cars and 4 disabled spaces, all areas of the building are fully accessible with lifts between floors and accessible toilet facilities on both levels. All rooms are available to hire for functions, meetings and conferences.
