Replacement Restaurant Increases Garden Centre Turnover

Client: Tickhill Garden Centre

Location: South Yorkshire

Tickhill Garden Centre's existing building could not cope with the increased demand for refreshments. Customers wanted full lunches, snacks and a bigger menu.

A natural timber building was chosen to complement the garden centre atmosphere. The structure comprises a standard 50mm log construction with insulation and internal pine panelling. All windows are double glazed and laminated beams provide a spacious and appealing interior.

Owner Rachael Rice is delighted with the restaurant. "The customers love it. We now have a superb new facility which blends in perfectly with the surroundings. The initial cost was surprisingly low and we estimate that it will cost us very little to heat and maintain. It is very warm and cosy."

The new restaurant allows the garden centre to meet all the latest food regulations and has won an Excellence in Food Hygiene award from Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council - an award which would have been impossible without the new building. Turnover in both plants and food has also increased dramatically.
